BANH CUON TAY HO is a Vietnamese restaurant tucked into a quieter strip along Grand Avenue in Chino Hills, offering a focused menu that centers on the delicate art of banh cuon — steamed rice crepes with a variety of savory fillings. The atmosphere leans casual and straightforward, reflecting a spot that suits takeout or a no-fuss dine-in experience rather than elaborate meals. The interior is clean and well-lit, which stands out compared to some older neighborhood counterparts, making it practical for families or quick lunches.

Regular visitors often highlight the Tay Ho Banh Cuon Set, which arrives thoughtfully packaged — a detail appreciated by to-go diners, as the orders come in secure boxes inside tote bags, including reusable chopsticks. This setup feels particularly useful for local workers or families picking up meals to share at home. The food balances familiar Vietnamese flavors with accessibility: sets featuring classic rice crepes paired with Vietnamese ham, grilled pork, or shrimp, plus sweet potato fritters, cover a range of tastes without overwhelming the menu.

Alongside banh cuon, appetizers like chicken wings glazed in Vietnamese-style sauce and crispy egg rolls offer communal bites, while vegetarians can find satisfying options such as rice crepes filled with tofu. The drink lineup includes popular choices like Thai tea and robust Vietnamese coffee — choices that help round out meals in a way locals appreciate during warmer afternoons or weekends.

Given its location near other Asian eateries, BANH CUON TAY HO can be a bit easy to miss, but its tidy and modern presentation helps it stand apart for those specifically seeking this style of Vietnamese steamed crepes. It caters well to diners who enjoy exploring authentic Vietnamese preparations without the bustle of larger, busy dining rooms. The restaurant feels suitable for pick-up orders during lunch hours or casual dinners when you want straightforward Vietnamese comfort food in a calm setting.

I ordered the vegetarian noodle salad with tofu and varietal mushrooms (a very excellent variety) and it was delicious! It also came with bean sprouts, basil, cucumber, slaw, and your choice of spicy or mild dipping sauce. I went with spicy and it was perfect (not too spicy IMO). I was also pleasantly surprised because instantly after ordering I regretted that I had ordered a 'salad' since I thought it was going to be cold. I started to think I should have ordered a hot plate, but turns out the noodle salad is a warm dish and Ioved it. I wish I had more of an appetite because I was also eyeing the chicken wings. Next time! P.S. The staff was friendly and courteous.

Cool a new place ! Interesting to see a different style of how Vietnamese food is served. They have these boxes they put the food in and my order actually came in a tote bag to go. I’m assuming it may be a grand opening thing. Either or the place looked clean and well lit but the location is a a bit hidden by Gen Korean bbq. Food The food was pretty decent for the price. I’m used to some other places that may have a bit more flavor, but I do appreciate how this place seems a bit “healthier” to me. (Not as oily as other places) What we tried was: Mi Xao Garlic Noodle with filet mignon- this dish was pretty good, garlic noodle was packed w garlic and it had some fresh vege on the side. I wished the beef was not as cooked or I believe it may be more juicier. Bun - Vegetarian - this was quite refreshing compared to other places we have tried Viet style Chicken Wings - skin was still crispy, decent, and not too dry or too wet. Shrimp and Sweet potato Fritters- I believe this was one of the highlight dishes, that my wife and daughter enjoyed. They believe it could have a bit more flavor but loved the “funnel cake” like texture. Thai Tea with crystal boba- this was one of my highlights as the crystal boba was good, and the Thai tea for once was not overall sweet. Would order this again. The order process was quite fast, and they also do have a website. It was a bit complicated to order at first but after we checked the website it was more clear on what each order was. Again the style was interesting. Definitely worth a try to experience the food with the box and the tote bag!

It's a nice surprise for me who is spoiled with great Asian restaurants from Orange County. This restaurant looks newer and much more clean than an average Vietnamese restaurant. The food selections are decent. The quality of food is not as good as OC restaurant but they cover that with something else. We orderes to go and they provided the nicest Togo bag, box and even very fancy Togo chopsticks. It's a wow for me and I appreciate this kind of service. Plenty of parking spaces and this is a handicap friendly facility.

We had bun, pho, filet mignon, with some specialty drinks and desserts. I love taro milk tea. Best new to me dish was the herbal dessert. With kelp and goji berries and a big red dry pitted fruit that tastes like a date. All very tasty!

Dining in or take out they serve the food in the box as to go, made to order. Clean establishment and good service. The food packaging is really fancy and the bag reusable. Liked the pork and woody mushrooms Tay Ho Banh Cuon set, the rice sheet wasn't too thin or too thick and the filling was flavorful, would like to have the cucumber sliced instead of shredded just for the crunch and extra fresh herbs. Grilled pork spring roll made to order, fresh veggies and fried dough for that extra crunch, thumbs up! The marinated pork rice plate was well grilled and fragrant. Will return to check on their crepes, steak garlic noodles and try their Pho soup base.

Such a convenient and modern concept to Vietnamese eatery. Everything is packaged to-go, and we got a free tote bag with our order! Parking: They’re located in a plaza, so there’s plenty of free parking. Ambiance/Environment: They recently opened, so it’s a clean spot. They have a medium sized space with a good amount of indoor seating & no outdoor seating. Service: We ordered ahead, so we didn’t really interact with anyone except one worker. We ordered to-go but we decided to dine there, and the one worker we talked to was Tee. She was really nice. Menu items: 1) Banh Cuon - THIS is what they’re known for! I rarely order Banh Cuon when I’m out bc I’m used to my grandma’s homemade Banh Cuon. When I tell y’all these reminded me of my grandma’s .. these were AMAZING! There was a generous amount of nuoc mam, cha lua, and vegetables. 2) Banh Xeo Shrimp & Pork - This came with 2 large banh xeo. It was filled with bean sprouts and shrimps. There was less pork compared to everything else, so I’d prefer an equal portion of each filling. It also came with large lettuces, generous amounts of nuoc mam, & pickled veggies. I actually really liked this! The nuoc mam gave it so much flavor. 3) Banh Mi Dac Biet - Their banh mis are huge. The baguette was toasted perfectly. The pickled veggies & daikon were absolutely fresh. The cold meats were also good, but I prefer a bit more. 4) Pho Bo Vien - I’ve always been skeptical of to-go pho. The soup was packaged separately, and it was actually still really hot. The noodles, meats, & toppings were in another package. I thought it was decent. The soup was salty for my liking, but it came with a generous amount of toppings. 5) Lychee Green Tea & Pandan Coffee - I love the drinks! The lychee flavor came through, and it was sooo refreshing! The pandan coffee tasted exactly as it sounds. Their Vietnamese coffee is strong! Make sure to mix well. Utensils: The utensils are reusable also! I really liked the chopsticks! Pricing: I’d say it’s worth it. The packaging is on point. We even got a free tote bag & reusable utensils with our order. There’s a generous amount of delicious foods in each box.
